What can I do to fight cancer within my body?

One of the best things you can do is try to follow your doctor's recommendations for treatment and to try to stay on schedule with your medicine.  It's also important to keep as healthy an attitude as possible.  It also helps to have a good network of supportive friends and family that you can turn to when needed.  Finally, it's important not to underestimate the benefit of a healthy lifestyle in terms of diet, exercise, and sleep (all as much as possible given your individual treatment and side effects).  The National Cancer Institute now recommends eating 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetable per day!

Some people are now trying alternative or complementary medicines to help in the fight against cancer; although this may be helpful, it's always a good idea to check with your doctor before taking any additional medicines (because of the risk of interfering with chemotherapy or worsening the side effects).
